Carlo Schillaci-Rowland
PATIENT & PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT MEMBER
I am a year 9 student who is about to embark on beginning my GCSEs. My favourite subjects are Biology, Chemistry and Maths as I find them interesting. Outside of school, I enjoy karate, reading and playing the saxophone in the school Jazz Band. When I am older I would like a career within the field of Biochemistry. I am excited to be a part of the project to help me gain a better understanding of sepsis, how technology can help advance medicine further, and hope this will help me to decide what areas of Biochemistry I wish to pursue in the future.

Ronnen Bhattacharya
PATIENT & PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT MEMBER
I am a year 9 student studying for my GCSEs. My interests are football and playing my electric guitar. In the future, I wish to be a teacher or a musician, but it is still unclear! I am hoping that this project will increase my general knowledge in a variety of subjects, especially in research and technology, and to gain some experience working with a scientific team.

Parents
PATIENT & PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT MEMBERS
Through our partnership with the UK Sepsis Trust, three mothers who tragically lost a child to sepsis have joined our patient and public involvement (PPI) group. Their powerful lived experience guides our work to prevent similar tragedies. We’re also supported by a parent of a young person who survived sepsis in infancy.
